Tips for Brainstorming.

 Talking About Brainstorming There are so many ways to brainstorm that I couldn't possibly list all of them, but maybe you only utilize a couple of ways and could use another method to break you out of your current slump . Or you have no real way and need one. Or you already do everything but nothing's working so you need to know that at least there are other people out there who are trying the same things. On to the bullet points, yay! Just write the whole story in shorthand. Like, this happens and then this happens and then this other thing comes along to mess stuff up and then BOOM and then taking a nap. draw a map. Start with this kid in a cave and draw where he goes from there. Draw the sidequests and the distractions and whatnot. Making yourself a Better Writer.

  1. Research Watch YouTube videos, read books, you research, you *will* improve. Good listen to podcasts... anything helps. If topics to research include: - writing style - story structures - character conflict and development - tropes and cliches - worldbuilding - subplots 2. Practice This one might be obvious, but practice makes progress. Write fanfiction or poetry or short stories or novels or anything you want. Don't put pressure on yourself for perfection. The more you work at it, the better you will get. Experiment with style, genre, and plot! 3. Study books Lots of people say that you need to read more to be a better writer. This may be true, but you need to truly study the books you're reading. Look at writing style, the structure of the story, plot, the characters and their conflicts and relationships. Observe. 4. How to start your book.

Writing beginnings is one of the crucial parts. Getting reader's attention and making them sit through the book is one of the toughest part. So today will see how to write the beginnings that captivate the reader to keep going. Many writers know what they want to write for the climax and resolution, but tackling the beginning is a lot harder. Especially when you're new to the craft, writing the beginning can seem daunting, since how do you even begin to organize the ideas floating around in your brain? Establish the setting. Let your readers know where the story is. Try to use imagery so your reader will visualize what world they'll be able to immerse themselves in. Set the vibe of the story. Is it a lighthearted rom-com set in a modern day rural community? Or is it a dark historical fiction story that takes place in 1945, inside a nazi camp?
